Hello Quilters!
Welcome to Deborah’s Designs! ---- We’re glad you came by
as there are many new things to tell you about and we are so excited.
First, Deborah’s Designs is proud to offer our new Box of
the Month Club. Each month (twelve in all) you will receive a kit to
make a small, 6” finished mini-quilt which features cotton
fabric and
wool for a whimsical,
easy appliqué. The kit provides all fabric for the top, back and
hanging tabs, plus wool for appliqué and all thread needed for hand
blanket stitch (needle included the first month only). Any
embellishments used such as buttons are also provided. Your kit
will be packaged in a cute little candy box and mailed out the third
Friday of each month. A small metal stand is also available for
purchase to display your mini-quilt on. This club has been so
popular since we introduced it by word of mouth in late August that we
are limited in the number of memberships still available. Click
Here to read on
for more information and then call, or email me, to join. Be sure
to provide me a phone number.
Also, we introduced three new patterns last month. Don’t Turn Me
Over was made using MOD A Turnovers (precut triangles) from Kathy
Schmitz’s Holly Jolly Snowmen fabric line. We are offering the
pattern plus kits are available also. The pattern directions are
not limited to using Turnovers but also suggest how much fabric to use
and how to cut it if not using a precut package of triangles. I
love this quilt! It was a real step out of the box for me to use
so many colors and a design on the diagonal. I can’t wait to do
more. In fact, I’m making another one using MODA Turnovers from
Three Sisters Aviary fabric line and, would you believe it, this fabric
line also shows a distinct light and dark pattern when used in Don’t
Turn Me Over. I’ll post a picture of it when it’s
finished.
Our next new pattern, is
Abby (or the Magic of Ten). This is my
third pattern that uses ten inch fabric squares, or MODA Layer Cakes,
but the first time I’ve added borders to a quilt using these
squares. I love this quilt also and, why I don’t know, but I
just had to name it after our three year old golden/basset, Abby.
Watch for our fourth pattern for ten inch squares soon.

--- And last, but certainly not least, is ‘Kinda the
Same, our
third new pattern. Fat quarters work great for this pattern and
this one is also available as a kit – which makes it a great seasonal
lap quilt that will perk up any room for Fall. Try it in other
fabrics for great looks all year round too.
Well, I guess this is it for now. Keep quilting because if you
are anything like me, Christmas will be here way too soon in regards to
the number of projects that need to be finished. Have fun!
Enjoy the season.
